Julius Mendes Price (1857-1924) explorer, traveller, journalist and caricaturist for Vanity Fair, war artist and correspondent for the Illustrated London News. An eyewitness account of bush life and gold mining in the Eastern and Murchison goldfields, profusely illustrated with photos and sketches by the author who describes the settlements, conditions and mining operations at Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie. He travelled also by camel to the lesser-known areas of Great Fingal, Mount Margaret and Menzies.
