Book Description

An excellent copy of Dibdin’s extension to the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, a disturbing blend of two late Victorian mythoi, as darkly intimated by the cover artwork by Tom Adams. Although this would probably not appeal to all lovers of the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, it is nevertheless a fascinating addition to the canon for those obsessed with all things Sherlockian, written by a talented author who would go on to find fame for his series of Italian detective novels featuring the character Aurelio Zen. The jacket of the spine is notorious for fading at the slightest hint of sunlight, but this copy is far better than most that we’ve seen.
