Recollections Of A Forest Life: or, The Life And Travels Of Kah-Ge-Ga-Gah-Bowh, or George Copway, Chief Of The Objibway Nation. Published by C. Gilpin, presumed 1st edition circa 1850 (ref. British Library). Hardback – original cloth binding with blind stamped decoration to boards, gilt title to spine. 248pp plus 24pp publisher’s catalogue to rear. 7 x 4.5 inches approx. Spine dulled and with some light wear and rubbing to covers; owner’s inscription to front paste-down; pages somewhat dusty and a little grubby throughout and with occasional foxing/spotting; page edges dusty and darkened. Nonetheless, remains a nicely preserved copy of this uncommon book.
