The Longleat Views [Title from upper cover].

Book Description
Large oblong folio (585 x 410 mm), lithographed throughout, dedication leaf, 6 tinted lithographed plates with tissue guards, each accompanied by a leaf of descriptive text, some light foxing as usual but mostly affecting text leaves, last few leaves frayed at edges, original roan-backed embossed limp cloth, titled in gilt within ornamental wreath on upper cover, preserved in modern slip-case.
A scarce volume of lithographic views of this famous Wiltshire Country House, the seat of the Marquess of Bath, and the only illustrated significant publication of devoted to the House. The six plates provide large and attractive illustrations of the Porters Lodge leading from Horningsham, The Garden Front of Longleat House, The Grand Entrance Hall, A View from Heavens Gate, Sheerwater Lake & Boat House and Horningsham Church and Village. The final plate includes the figure of a lady sketching the view - perhaps a self-portrait of Mrs. Pocock. It appears that this is a husband and wife combined effort, Mrs. Rose R. Pocock being the artist and A. Pocock the Bristol lithographic printer.
