The Preface states that every receipt has been carefully revised for this edition with new receipts added. With chapters on Soup; Fish; Beef; Mutton; Veal; Pork; Poultry; Curries; Game; Gravies and Sauces; Vegetables; Puddings, Pies and Tarts; Creams, Custards and Jellies etc., Cakes, Biscuits and Breads; Preserves; Vinegars; Pickles; Wines; the Kitchen Garden; Bees and more. Recipes include such delights as Sour Kraut, Devil, Pigeons en Surprise, Lobster Catsup, Tansy Pudding, Sowens, Ale Berry, Nun s Beads, Fairy Butter, Whim Wham, Sally Luns, Cold Harbour Balls and Spruce Beer. Light wear to boards, edges a little worn and occasional light foxing but otherwise good condition.
