(3.4 x 2.4 inches). 32pp. Sewn into plain yellow paper wraps. Illustrated with ten wood engraved vignettes and decorative head piece on the first page, plus one leaf with four lines of music, for voice and violin, for the song The Southern Breezes. Page edges a bit creased and rubbed and a small stain to the rear blank wrap, but overall a very good copy. Contains a short anti slavery verse, simply entitled The Slave. --- Rare. No copies listed on Worldcat or Copac. "One class of literature which Jemmy Catnach made — by reason of greater mechanical skill and a larger capital than his rivals — almost his own, was children's farthing, halfpenny, and penny books." - The history of the Catnach press by Charles Hindley. 1886. Catnach was publishing at this address between c. 1813 and his retirement in 1838.
