The Romish mass-book with notes and observations thereupon, plainly demonstrating the idolatry and blaspheymy thereof with unanswerable arguments proving it no service of God
Book Description
12mo. [2] [12], 130 {2]. Ie. Engraved title page is followed by four preliminary leaves consisting of printed title page and three leaves of Latin introduction, then two leaves of epistle to the reader in English. This is followed by the main text, also in English, with an ad leaf to rear. The engraved title page reads The Mass a Mock Romes Sacrifice an Abomination. Wing R1907. ESTC R27564, in a setting not there noted with an extra prelim and an ad leaf to rear (but perhaps ESTC entry is unchecked). Contemporary calf worn, lacks front flyleaf, engraved title page detached but present, sometime stamp of Charles Burstow [?] Horley Station Surrey, Nories House to front paste down and to verso of engraved title page, some foxing but complete, and in its original binding. A rare controversial work, with only four noted by ESTC in the US.
