Book Description

Published in 1922, this is a beautifully bound example of the Hugh Thomson illustrated edition of Oliver Goldsmith’s The Vicar of Wakefield. Bound in a fine Morocco half leather binding, titled and decorated in gilt, top edge gilded, the binding is not signed, but it is worthy of any of the well known top binding firms, book is well illustrated throughout.
Dealer Notes
There is a rubbed spot to the marbled paper on the rear board, light edge rubbing else the binding is in good solid condition, internally browning to edges of endpapers, leading page edges remain untrimmed, else in good condition.
