First edition, first printing (with Bemrose Dalziel shown as the printers) following appearing in a magazine. Coloured illustrations by F.H. Townsend. Very good in cream boards, rather faded to the spine, but with gilt lettering and roundel to the front board. An ownership inscription on the front free endpaper. Foxing to the endpapers. Hinge broken between front endpaper and half title page, but without loss. Lacks dustjacket.
