Reprint of this Wal Paget edition which was originally published in 1899. 8vo. (7.4 x 5 inches). Colour printed map to Treasure Island and 45 mono illustrations, many full page. Some light foxing throughout but overall a very good copy. Finely bound in early leather binding of full navy blue calf, by Truslove and Hanson. Spine with raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Both boards with double ruled gilt borders. Board edges with gilt decoration. Marbled endpapers. All edges marbled. A neat presentation inscription, dated 1914, to the front blank free endpaper. Some rubbing to the leather, mainly on the spine - which is also a little faded. Some cracking to the surface leather on the front hinge, although the board is firmly attached, but still an attractive leather binding.
