Book Description

A good, clean copy of the first UK Edition of this book first published in the U.S.A. in 1941. Brown cloth with gilt titles which are curiously rather rubbed on the spine, in a complete pictorial Dustwrapper. The wrapper , whilst complete is quite creased and rubbed but still shows the price, 15/-. An unsentimental , matter of fact history of how the American South was in the first half of the 20th Century. Evocative and often disturbing black and white photographs by Edwin Rosskam.
