Book Description

ix,273 pp. Octavo. Original blue cloth. 6 sections of black and white illustrations. Four one page maps. Dust wrapper shows minor wear at the top and bottom of the spine, also has minor fading and soiling. A very good copy.
Dealer Notes
This is the standard history documenting the first ascent of K2 by the expedition leader, Desio. Although not a rare book this copy is signed by the two first summiters Compagnoni and Lacedelli. Unlike the members of the 1953 Everest team who did many public signings Lacedelli and Compagnoni did not and their signatures especially together are very scarce.
