Thomas William Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester (6 May 1754 – 30 June 1842), known as Coke of Norfolk or Coke of Holkham, was a British politician and agricultural reformer. He owned a 30,000 acre estate in Norfolk which comprised of 54 farms when he inherited it. In the past, historians described him as an important figure of the British Agricultural Revolution, suggesting that he invented the four-crop rotation method. However, this is now disputed, with the crop rotation that he used now attributed to traditional Norfolk methods which, because of his wealth and status, became widely known and copied under his patronage . He did make a great contribution to the advancement of farming techniques in England, and by the creation of his model farms and publicising them widely, changed agricultural methods and increased production.
