Women Land Workers In Red China
Book Description
Undated, issue unknown, possibly circa 1968, size 20 ½ x 26 ¾ inches. This is a poster showing one of the important political movements in the early Chinese Cultural Revolution, the “Down to the Countryside” Movement. The bottom line apparently reads “ Refining the Depth of the Heart in the vast”, which suggests that the young high school and college students ought to go out into the “vast” [ land] to extend their knowledge and understanding of the Cultural Revolution and the life of peasant workers in the countryside . A woman student/worker drives a tractor with a rising sun showing Mao Zedong .We are selling this poster as a decorative item as it is difficult to translate the text, date, and context of the work with certainty.
