First editions. Three Volume set , complete. HB. Green cloth with gilt titles and extensive gilt decorations in art nouveau style to spines, and gilt crests to fronts, with all top page edges gilt. With 600 b&w illustrations in total, some by Herbert Railton, including 3 tissued-guarded frontispiece engravings; other illustrations are in text, with some whole page. A Very Good set, clean and bright with no ownership inscriptions, light rubbing to cover edges and spine ends, with the frontispiece of Vol. 3 loose but present.
