Archive of 74 WW1 romantic, sentimental & patriotic midget postcards
Book Description
An archive of First World War midget message cards from Min to Walt . Each measures approx 3.5” x 1.75”. Many have romantic messages from Min (see images). Some are not written on, others have only “to Walt love from Min x “ or similar.
Dealer Notes
Each card was presented with ‘ The Red Letter’ a romantic magazine published by D.C. Thomson. It is unusual to find a collection from one person to another ( usually only single cards turn up) . Presumably Walt saved them all carefully and brought them back with him when he returned from the war. All are preserved in nice clean condition with only minor signs of handling. The small size means that they could not be used postally ( or possibly Min wanted them to remain private) so they would have been sent to Walt in envelopes.
