This annual publication, one of a number at the time, contains original engravings , one for each month, mostly country or farming scenes, a number of other smaller images and a rather splendid British Lion on the rear cover defending the country against "manifestations from foreign lands" etc.
Contains , variously, lists of Fairs & Markets in England, directions for the farmer & grazier, the weather, rising and setting of the planets and phases of the moon. A proper hieroglyphic adapted to the times; Agricultural, Horticultural and Botanical notices, predictions of coming events: Correct tables of Stamps and Taxes. The principle fixed and moving feasts in the year of our lord 1861, Eclipses, Law and university terms, Articles of the calendar etc. "All that can be desired or expected in an almanack"
