[CHANNEL ISLANDS ADVERTISING HANDBILL].
Book Description
Single sheet, 250 x 160mm, laid paper, text within decorative border, titled in decorative mixed fonts printed on both sides.
Advertising handbill for E.Gilley’s horse drawn coach tours round the island of Jersey and Gilley’s “Britannia Concerts” on the verso. The tours ran daily excepting Sundays visiting sites such as the Greve-De-Lecq. caves, Mont Orgueil castle, the Prince’s Tower and other locations. Some dozen locations per day were scheduled for visit with almost no repetition. We are informed that the excursion cars would be “Calling at the Principal Hotels and Boarding Houses...returning to Town at 5 o’ clock, in time for Table d’Hôte....”.
The concert room offered “...Excellent song and cigar, nightly” and that the Professor Bennett Smith, R.A., would preside at the piano and sing several of his most popular songs. A very good copy (small splits to edges; slightly dusty in places).
