Chinese pith costume drawings hand coloured in bright condition

No date. c. 1900. An album of 12 hand-coloured Chinese costume pith drawings, showing various different figures with bright colour as follows: 1) Man in a blue costume brightly embroidered, with a red cloak, sitting on a chair with his feet on a raised block. 2) A Woman, similarly seated, with an embroidered white dress and red cloak, 3) A man, standing, in a full-length blue decorated robe 4) A woman standing, looking to one side, in a multiple piece with her hands in a muff. 5) A man, walking, with an indigo robe with white decoration, 6) A young woman looking to the right with a green and blue decorated dress with a hand muff. 7) A young man with a plain light blue robe, and a light buff cloak with an embroidered panel, 8) A young woman walking with a pink full robe blue edges and a fan, looking to one side, 9) A middle-aged man with a moustache, in profile, with a dark blue over-robe and long sleeves, 10) A modest younger woman in a plain blue coat with a muff and white facings 11) a man with a plain light blue robe, black edgings with one hand extended 12) A young woman looking to the left, with a pink dress and an over robe in dark blue with a white long embroidered scarf. The pith to plate 2 is damaged around the head just touching the image, occasional minor marks and slight foxing. Bound in the original silk, a little worn. A pity about the damaged plate, but overall a very attractive costume book, complete, with bright colours in the original binding.
