Book Description

A Christmas card measuring 19 x 16 cm opening out to full coloured design to the verso of the front cover and the recto of the rear cover. Cut out window to the front cover allowing the coloured image of Queen Victoria to be seen from the front. Edward Bawden has signed his name in pencil to the lower front cover. The card is in Very Good++ condition with very slight rubbing to the fold and a hint of spotting to the plain edges. Designed by Edward Bawden and produced by Dawson Rossiter Limited, Slough especially for the use of the 'Fellows of The Royal Society of Arts', marking the centenary of 'The International Exhibition' of 1862, which took place in South Kensington, London. To the verso of the rear cover is some descriptive blurb regarding the interior design and the International Exhibition. Limitation unknown but now a very scarce Christmas Card, more-so signed by Edward Bawden. Protected in a removable archival transparent folder. Collectible.
