Book Description

Diary of a Provincial Lady, E.M. Delafield, Macmillan and Co, 1930, First Edition, First Impression A largely autobiographical novel which takes the form of a journal of the life of an upper-middle class Englishwoman living mostly in a Devon village in the 1930s. In good condition, the binding is tight with a slight lean, the boards clean, colour uneven as seen on other copies and the lettering on the spine bright. There is sunning to the spine and along the edges of the back board and crease marks to the top corners of the front and back boards. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The unclipped original dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in fair condition with loss to all the corners, two small nicks to the top edge of the front cover, marks to the front cover, loss to the top edge of the spine, loss to the bottom edge of the spine, nibbling and crease marks to the top edge of the back cover, and a small nick to the bottom edge of the back cover. Repairs have been carried out to the inside joins (please see photograph). It is extremely rare to find this book with a dust jacket. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
