The Condor and the Cows, Christopher Isherwood, Methuen & Co Ltd, 1949, First Edition, First Impression Considered one of the very few classic travel books on South America, this is the account of Isherwood's and his partner's six-month tour of Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina in September 1947. The book is illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The slightly toned end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The top edge fully retains its original red tint, The clipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with loss to all the corners, marks to the front cover, a small crease to the top corner of the front cover, loss to the bottom edge of the spine, a toned spine and marks to the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
