Large 4to. First edition. Library Edition. Original vellum spine with pictorial vellum covers. Top edge stained red. Front cover illustration of the Bus Driver and twelve full page colour lithographs. Spine a bit dulled. Boards browned, a little bumped, rubbed at edges and with small loss, from wear, to the top corner of the front cover. Contents clean and fresh. Very good +.

Verses by W. E. Henley accompany Nicholson’s plates showing Guardsman, Hawker, Beef-eater, Sandwich-Man, Coster, Lady, Bluecoat Boy, Policeman, News-Boy, Drum-Major, Flower Girl, Barmaid and the Bus Driver on the front cover. The larger format Library edition, printed on vellum and in the uncommon variant binding (usually buckram). A very presentable copy.
