Andhré or André des Gachons (1871-1951) was a French painter and illustrator. The present work is an example of his delicate use of watercolours. The work narrates stories from the life of the virgin Each of the 31 chapters gives a different story plus a thought and a prayer related to the story. It was intended for girls and young women.
