Book Description

A collection of Ault & Wiborg posters originally published by them between 1895 and 1902, re-issued in book form as “having exhausted our entire stock of unbound posters through responding to demands for same, we concluded some time ago to reissue, in pamphlet form, practically all heretofore shown by us, and this Album is the result." Complete (1 single sided plate and 3 double sided plates in facsimile), green cloth boards with white decoration and titles. In good overall condition, the boards a little worn & grubby and the front flyleaf missing. A rare collection.
Dealer Notes
Printing ink manufacturer Ault & Wiborg was founded by Levi Ault and Frank Wiborg in Cincinnati in 1878. It went on to be the world’s largest ink manufacturer. It commissioned posters from notable artists and designers of the day for marketing purposes. In 1928 Ault sold his interest in the company for $14 million (equivalent to some $250 million today!).
