The Works of Ralph Waldo Emerson Part Set, missing Volume I: Volume II - Essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 1888, Volume III - Poems by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 1890, Volume IV - English Traits and Representative Men by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 1883, Volume V - The Conduct of Life & Society and Solitude by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 1883, Volume VI - Letters and Social Aims by Ralph Waldo Emerson - 1885. With the slightly taller 2 volume memoir, bound to match, A Memoir of Ralph Waldo Emerson by James Elliot Cabot, in Two Volumes - 1887. memoir has volume numbers to the spine but the Works do not, possibly indicating that they were bound without volume I for some reason, but on the shelf it is not evident a volume is missing as a result.
Leather is in excellent condition with a hit of scuffing to edge of raised bands to Essays and English Traits, and a little rubbing to corners with occasional surface scratch to same. conduct of life has a couple of spots of something Very clean and sound set. Volume I of the memoir has a little tiny area of damage to the leather to the top edge. Some Occasional foxing internally. Very clean. A very attractive set.
