Red cloth boards, black lettering to spine, black silhouette within oval frame to front cover, under illustrated dustwrapper. 11.25ins x 9ins, xix, (i), 154pp plus 10pp colour illustrations mounted on black paper and 93pp monotone plates. Text includes a comprehensive dictionary of artists. The colour plates are protected by tissue guards - some of which are creased. Previous owners bookplate to front pastedown. The dw (now protected) is chipped to top & bottom of spine, has several short tears and an area of loss to the bottom of the front cover. VG / P.
