Tess of the D'Urbevilles

Book Description
One of a signed limited edition of 125 copies. 19.5 x 28.8 cm, vellum backed, marbled paper covered boards Uncut edges, xiii[i], 507[1]pp with 41 wood engravings by Vivien Gribble and a folding map to the rear. Signed by Thomas Hardy to the limitation page. In original dust jacket.
The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean. There is slight toning to the spine and some faint marking to the spine. There is a hint of bruising to the bottom corners and a small bump to the tip fore edge corner of the front cover but the edges remain un-rubbed. Internally the book is very clean with no toning to the pages and the pages are unopened from page vii onwards. There is a small mark slightly right of centre of the front panel. There is also a 1.5cm closed tear at the foot of the upper joint of the dust jacket and a little chipping along the head of the jacket extending to 3 mm at most. All in all a superb copy of this beautiful signed, illustrated, deluxe edition.
