This scarce 1st UK edition in its even scarcer dust jacket has a number of differences from the US edition with changes in language “nappie” for “daiper” etc. together with an editor’s note at the front referring to medical entitlements under the relatively new National Health Service and the extra rations available to pregnant women and new mothers (although rationing officially ended in July 1954).
