Dealer Notes
A most attractive and interesting design with the single sheet sewn into wrappers containing a thirty line poem by Armitage and an illustration by Watt. On opening the wrappers the sheet inside further opens like shutters to reveal the illustration on the verso and the poem on the recto. 'The Bed' was written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey in November 2020. The artist Alison Watt has produced a beautiful, poignant image titled Plain in response to the poem and Manet s The Dead Man .
