[first published 1815], Half leather binding with marbled boards Five raised bands to spine. Rebacked. Gilt lettering on leather patch to compartment two. Blind stamped decoration to other compartments. Small folio, 14.5ins x 10.5ins, Additional hand coloured aquatint title page, printed title page, list of plates, half title, 59pp plus 24 hand coloured plates. Each plate is marked aquatint by R. Havell after drawing by Charles Hamilton Smith, and they are dated 1815. The full printed title continues" to which is added, that of The Gothic Nations on the Western Coasts of the Baltic, the ancestors of the Anglo-Saxons and Anglo-Danes". The text pages have wide margins. Within the text there are many references to Druids and Bards. The text pages have occasional offsetting from the plates opposite. The marbled paper to board edges is chipped in places but overall a VG copy.
