Six quarto volumes bound in the publisher's uniform cloth bindings, all edges gilt. Volume 1 has 46 illustrations instead of the 47 as stated on the spine, Volume 2 has 39 rather than the 40 stated on the spine but this does appear to be the case with other sets of this date, Volume 3 has 53 plates as stated on the spine, 7 pages detached but complete and can easily be tipped in, Volume 4, 53 plates as called for, Volume 5, 50 plates as called for and Volume 6, 76 plates as called for. Some wear to the edges and the occasional mark on the covers. Some foxing mainly to the preliminaries and endpapers. Further pictures can be sent on request.
