Six folding anatomical plates; fore edge of plate 5 browned and sl. chipped (no loss) from previous mis-folding. Pencilled number on rfep. Contents a trifle age-toned, otherwise clean and tight.

An important early work on physiology and anatomy in athletes' training, bridging the era of experienced-based coaching and that of technology and scientific knowledge. The authors, brothers, were anatomists and athletes. James Irvine, F.R.C.V.S. was also an expert in equine anatomy and wrote extensively on horses; James Money was an authority and contributor on chess.
