The Balkan News was a daily newspaper produced in Salonika (Thessaloniki) for the British Salonica Force (BSF) fighting on the Macedonian Front. This issue contains front-page news concerning the death of Grigori Rasputin, the notorious mystic and holy man, assassinated at the end of 1916 by Russian nobles.
