Two plunges for a Pearl
Book Description
First edition, 8vo; three volumes. Vol 1: viii, 225. Vol 2 [vi], 216. Vol 3: [vi], 214, (4) ads. Original publisher s decorated red cloth, rather shaken, spines dulled and rubbed, label sometime removed from the front of each board, flyleaf lacking to rear of volume 2, text clean, half-titles present to all three volumes. A solid, rather than perfect example of this rather unusual first edition, which is known for its lampooning Swinburne. With the advert leaves, and the two inserts indicated by Sadleir as being final leaf to volume 1 (Q1), and P1 in volume 2. Sadleir 583a (the regular publisher s binding).
