Dealer Notes
= Rare complete series of the first volume. Vanity Fair was founded by Thomas Gibson Bowles (= Jehu Junior) in 1868. This first volume was published in 1869, and this magazine would continue through 1913. Bowles wrote much of the humorous and racy commentary in the early years. Despite presenting humorous caricatures of people, along with gossip about them, most people were flattered to be selected to be included in Vanity Fair.
Binding partly stained and with incision on backstrip. Contents fine with some foxing.
