Dealer Notes
The Elmhurst Hall offered here was built in 1806, replacing an earlier 17th Century building. George Fox, a retired Manchester businessman bought the estate from trustees of Newton John Lane [died 1769] in 1874. His trustees in turn sold it to the Smethwick brewer Henry Mitchell [to which the conveyance refers] who lived in it until his death in 1914. When his trustees failed to find a buyer, the hall was demolished in 1921.
