Dealer Notes
AB 16548. Sorge was one of 2 scientific advisers who accompanied Arnold Fanck's 1932 German Universal Tonfilms Expedition to the Umanak region of West Greenland. Though the immediate purpose of the expedition was the making of two films - "S.O.S. Iceberg" and "North Pole Ahoy" - the author used the opportunity to examine the Umiamako and Rink glaciers. Leni Riefenstahl, one of the films’ actors, wrote of her own experiences on the expedition in her book Kampf in Schnee und Eis.
