Book Description

This is a rare 26 page programme for an appearance of The Moore & Burgess Minstrels at St. James’s Hall Piccadilly in London, dating to 1899, the programme was published by Stafford & Co. of Nottingham, measuring just over 18cm tall, featuring colour covers, contents the programme of the concert, and around twenty pages of songs, plus some local business adverts. The Minstrels gave African American performances and portrayals in their performances, St. James’s Hall Piccadilly in London was a well known venue for productions of blackface minstrelsy, being host to The Christy Minstrels troupe before the Moore and Burgess Minstrels. Light marking to covers, small hole in the spine, covers are separated from the contents, light foxing and creasing else in good general condition. this is a lighter item, overseas shipping costs will be reduced accordingly at checkout where possible
