ROCHESTER, CHATHAM AND STROOD HOY Shipping Transport Receipt
Book Description
This is an interesting old shipping transport receipt document, advertising that The Ship, “The Maidstone” , owned by Elgar & Hands, and Captained by John Moore is now accepting goods and passengers to sail from Topping’s Wharf, Southwark to Rochester, Chatham and Strood on Fridays and Saturdays, dated November 5th 1808 signed by The Wharfinger from Stanton’s lower Wharf the handbill is also lists the places that goods being delivered to Chatham and Rochester, can then be further transported to in the surrounding towns, signed for the receipt of one hamper for shipping, measuring 7.5 inches by 7 inches approx, with some edge and creasing wear, and browning, small hole in centre else in good condition
