Title page through to page viii all have a paper repair to the upper inner corners. The title page is lightly browned. The word examined is written in pencil to the upper outer corner of the title page. Ink owner's inscription to the rear of page iv - Sir Percival Scrope Marling Bart V.C. C.B. J.P. D. L. Stanley Park, Glos. The ink shows through on the opposite side of the page. The bookplate of the same owner covers another older one on the front pastedown. In old leather boards which are worn at the edges and corners. With a modern replacement leather spine. Now a good strong binding which should last for years and be useable. The plate of Pen Park Hole facing page 797 has caused browning to the adjoining pages. The plate of New Mills is at page 714 rather than page 425. Pages 617 and 618 are correctly numbered. Some pages browned. A very large and very heavy volume - considerable extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK
