Eight folded leaves of plates, title page in red and black; printer's device with initials HDB on title page, page 393 misnumbered 377, 397 misnumbered 379, 515 misnumbered 415. Text in Latin, with occasional quotations in Greek. Contemporary or near contemporary calf, good quality reback, front cover repaired, edges specked, original endpapers retained, bookplate of Exeter Cathedral to front paste-down, official withdrawal stamp, contemporary signature of J. Newcome. The attractive folding plates face pages 1, 66, 90, 112, 141, 187, 195, and 308, and depict various oracles in statuesque settings. Occasionally rather foxed, but overall a good clean copy with all pages intact and no markings.
