Book Description

8vo. First edition. Original black plastic comb binding with ‘Buckinghamshire’ silver gilt. Two coloured maps and numerous black and white photographs throughout. Advertisement for Shell on the Road at the rear by Edward Bawden. Just a little rubbing to the cover edges. Contents clean. Near fine.

The endpapers are of leaf sketches by the author/artist. The double page photomontage ‘Slough Then and Now’ was an influence on John Betjeman’s poem ‘Slough’. Friendly bombs.
