This poem was first published in Lord Gorell's Many Mansions (John Murray, 1926): it is reprinted in this private edition limited to 50 copies by the kindness, and for the benefit of friends (the author has also corrected the placing of the comma on the dedication page). This copy is number Eighteen and is presented to Laurence Binyon, C.H., in all cordial appreciation and esteem. Christmas, 1935. Cream card covers with black lettering & blue box ruling to upper board in original tissue paper wrapper. Decorative title page, blue caption throughout the text and rough edge to bottom of pages. In very good+ condition with a touch of foxing to covers and pages as seen in photos, otherwise clean and fresh. Age toning, a few tears and loss to paper wrapper but still in good to very good condition, doing its job protecting the book. 'Lord Gorell was a British Peer, Liberal politician, poet and newspaper editor. He wrote 14 works of fiction, mainly detective stories and several collection of poetry. Laurence Binyon (1869-1943) was an English poet, dramatist and art scholar, best known for his 'Ode of Remembrance' an ode from the poem 'For the Fallen', used on Remembrance day in the UK'.
