Contemporary full speckled calf, spines with gilt rules, gilt lettered red labels. 6 folding tables to the rear of volume I plus 2 more to the rear of volume II. Neat repairs to the spine ends and joints, a very good set.

The author wrote widely across different scientific disciplines, though this is considered his most important work. It first appeared in 1784 as a single volume, with this revised and considerably expanded edition appearing ten years later.
