A deluxe illustrated copy with illustrations by the British artist, designer and illustrator Rex Whistler, (24 June 1905 – 18 July 1944). The copy has been signed by Whistler on the half title page. This classic collection of Hans Andersen's children's fairy stories includes The Snow Queen, Thumbelina and The Ugly Duckling. Original cream cloth covered boards with bright gilt decoration to the entire cover. There are gilt titles to the front and spine. The book has minor bumping to the corners and spine ends. Overall a bright and clean covers in very good condition. All the edges of the book are block gilded with bright effect. The end papers are decorated pink illustrations.
