Text French. A professional French dressmaker’s album, c. 1930s-1940s (newspaper cutting dated 13th February 1940 loosely inserted), containing over 70 pages of manuscript instructions in French (presented in a neat attractive script) and accompanied by over 60 pages of detailed drawings of patterns in black and red ink, with tissue guards. Subjects include examples of various sleeves, a number of kimono designs, jackets, blouses, skirts, ruffles, collars and alterations etc. There are 17 blank pages at the rear. The introductory page is decorated with a delightful floral watercolour design.
