Engraved frontispiece and title page and many black and white illustrations within the text. Publisher s original olive green cloth with gilt decorated front cover and spine, recently rebacked with original spine relaid, original boards retained. Covers faded and worn, edges and shoulders bumped and rubbed, very occasional light spotting to first few pages but interior bright and binding tight. Previous owner s signature on title page; front endpaper annotated with handwritten recipes for pork pie crust and salad dressing and a note on brewing on p. 393.
