The Meadow Queen; or, the Young Botanists, with the Wild-Flower Alphabet. By the author of "The Wild Garland," etc.
Book Description
First edition. 12mo. Hand-coloured frontis, and two further coloured plates. [iii-v], vi-xi [i], 166, (2) (ads). Original green bubbled cloth, with small decoration to spine, skilfully rebacked, spine relaid, original yellow endpapers retained, small booksellers label Poynder, next to General Post Office, Reading. An excellent copy, clean and tight. Please note that the collation of our example differs from the Opie copy, in that ours does not have a half title, and there is one leaf of ads (the Opie copy appears to have three ad leaves). Presumably this is a publishing variant, as this example is in the original publisher s cloth. A rare item, all the more so in this condition. Library Hub gives only examples in Oxford (Opie: collection number 012:016) and at the BL.
