First edition. A scarce biography, which was intended for juvenile and popular audiences, and produced during World War II under the strictures of war economy standards. Burbridge was the author of a number of other biographies in this series, including World Statesman: Field-Marshall Smuts; Mr. Valiant: Rt. Hon. Winston S. Churchill; and The Wizard of Wales: Rt. Hon. D. Lloyd George.
This copy of The Mysterious A.C. 2. is from the T.E. Lawrence collection of Roy Turner, whose interest in Lawrence began while he was serving in Palestine with the Royal Engineers in circa 1945-1948 and continued into the late 1990s.
